The landscape diversity and the unique rural heritage make this remote mountainous park a great destination to explore step by step. Iberian wolf territory, transhumance villages, granite massifs, pilgrim footpaths, wild rivers are some highlights that you can find on your Peneda-Gerês.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 PENEDA GEREÊS NATIONAL PARK | CASTRO LABOREIRO

Meet with a member of our team for a briefing and a short introduction walk.

DAY 2  LABOREIRO VALLEY

The landscape diversity and the cultural richness are some highlights of the day. Initially following Mountain trails and after the old transhumance paths, this is the perfect walk to introduce the mountain lifestyle at Peneda-Gerês National Park.  If the weather allows, why not go for a swim at the natural river lagoons.

DAY 3 PENEDA MOUNTAIN AND SOAJO

Our local guide will join you for the day walk. Embark on a journey through the magnificent Peneda Mountain. Follow the old shepherd trails and centenary pilgrim footpaths and explore this amazing granite landscape. Discover the Iberian Wolf territory and explore the rural heritage associated to the transhumance.

DAY 4 LINDOSO

Lindoso is always a special place to visit, with the set of granite granaries and the primitive castle. Follow the ancient shepherd paths that for centuries connected mountains and villages, spot wild horses and wolf tracks.

DAY 5 GERMIL, SERRA AMARELA HIDDEN GEM 

One of the most well-preserved villages in the Park, Germin is a must-visit at Peneda Gerês. Using the old stone paths, you will travel back in time, while crossing the village narrow streets in direction to the mountain. The stunning view over the Lima Valley and the ancient wolf trap are some walk highlights.

DAY 6   MATA DE ALBERGARIA AND GERÊS-XURÉS TRANSBOUNDARY PARK

A different walk, between Portugal and Spain, exploring the charms of this Transboundary Park. Crossing the unique Mata de Albergaria and ending at natural hot springs.

DAY 7 GERÊS MOUNTAIN

Mountain walk along ancestral paths and trails that local communities used to access the mountain's resources. The route is framed in a mountain environment, covering one of the elevations of the Gerês mountains.
