D1 VIANA DO CASTELO

A member of our local team  will welcome you at your hotel. After check in, short tour around the charming historical center.

Night Viana do Castelo 

D2 VIANA DO CASTELO – VILA PRAIA DE ÂNCORA → 19 KM / 4-5 H

Today you will leave Viana do Castelo, crossing some rural areas with ocean view and walking a while Atlantic coastline. Today is quite an easy day, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed pace and have enough time to make the most of the seaside villages and towns along the way. You will stay in small coastal town.

Night Vila Praia de Âncora 

D3 VILA PRAIA DE ÂNCORA – A GUARDA → 19 KM / 4-5 H

From Vila Praia de Ancora you will continue on your coastal Camino towards Caminha, right by the Minho estuary, where the River meets the Atlantic. The river crossing to Spain will be on a small boat. From the boat you can continue straight to A Guarda or take a detour along the estuary for great coastal views.

D4 A GUARDA – OIA → 15 KM / 3-4 H

From the fishing village of A Guarda, your path continues northwards where you will be afforded some more breathtaking views of the ocean on your left.

D5 OIA - BAIONA → 14 KM / 3-4 H

Continue your path North, always along the ocean. Tonight you will reach the busy seaside town of Baiona with its gorgeous marina.

D6 BAIONA – VIGO → 23 KM / 5-6 H

Today you will follow the coast from Baiona to Nigrán and finally to the city of Vigo. You will enjoy fantastic views of the Bay of Vigo, with the magnificent Illas Cíes and its Natural Park in the horizon.

D7 REDONDELA – PONTEVEDRA → 16 KM / 3-4 H

Day stage you will be surrounded by a pleasant countryside, with traditional cottages and traditional horreos (barns). The medieval bridge Pontesampaio and Pontevedra historical center are some of the day highlights. Pontevedra is the most “city-like” town on the route aside from Santiago and a bustling place with a great atmosphere.

D8  PONTEVEDRA/CALDAS DE REIS → 21 KM

Today’s stage is a gentle long but not difficult. We will leave Pontevedra behind, leaving the city through its iconic Plaza de la Peregrina and after leaving the zigzag of streets and squares in the centre of Pontevedra, we will head towards Caldas de Reis, a village widely visited for the medical properties of its thermal waters.

Night Caldas de Reis 

D9 CALDAS DE REIS /PADRÓN → 18 KM

Diverse stage that will take us to Padrón. In the village the legendary church of Santiago resides “el Pedrón” in which, according to the legend”, the disciples of the apostle Santiago moored the boat that transported the mortal remains of the apostle once they arrived to the coasts of Padrón after sailing the river Ulla.

D10 PADRÓN/ SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA → 26 KM

Last stage of the Portuguese Way, so we recommend leaving Padrón early to enjoy the day in Santiago de Compostela. Today you will find a high density of urbanized areas. Today you will find a high density of urbanized areas, confirming that you are reaching the finish line. On the way two milestones, the monumental collegiate church of Iria Flavia and the Escravitude church.
