BIRDWATCHING AT PICO
Terceira island has the most important concentration of birds of the Azores, between endemic, subspecies and migratory, more than 200 species nest and / or seek shelter on the Azorean archipleago. It is also a passageway for American migratory birds due to its central position in the Atlantic Ocean. This trip will also allow you to visit the colorful city of Angra do Heroismo, listed in World Heritage, to discover the volcanism of "Misterios Negros", "Algar do Carvão" or solfatares de "Furnas do Enxofre ". Due to its geographical location the Galicia region and Alto Minho, presents special conditions for bird watching. In a few kilometers we find a great diversity of habitats and geomorphological characteristics very diverse. There are about 200 species that can be observed in this territory. The great majority are of areas of Atlantic influence, but we will also find some species of the Mediterranean zones.
